Celebration time

Today was my stepfather’s birthday. Well, yesterday now, as i’m writing this past midnight.

My friend Laura (Cold Tea and Baby B) made him a cake and it was delicious. She used xylitol instead of sugar, and hazelnut milk instead of milk. She’s as talented as she is considerate and thoughtful. My stepdad loves guiness so I asked if she could make an anti gravity cake with a can of guiness pouring. I knew it would turn out great, but to say it turned out great would be an understatement of epic proportions. It turned out amazing. It really looked like guiness was pouring out of that can.  She also hand iced the guiness logo on there. This is a short blog post, just to say a big massive thank you to Laura, and to wish my stepdad a Happy Birthday. Here are some photos of that awesome birthday cake…

 

(also, regarding my last blog post, it was pretty heavy going. I showed it to my stepdad the day I wrote it as I wanted to be sure my folks were ok with me sharing it. He thought it was really lovely so i’m super relieved about that).
